Cruxay.com Promo Music Video
For once, I think I’ve put something out that I actually like. Despite having no intentions of making a video like this, and almost no footage whatsoever, I think I managed to put together something rather decent.
This video features just some of the places I came across during my time in Japan (May/June 2007). Locations include: Shinjuku, Yoyogi, JR Shinkansen, Asakusa (during Sanja Matsuri), Akihabara (Zelda shot), Ueno Zoo (animals & Chiki the street performer), Kyoto, Arashiyama, Miyajima (deer), Tokyo Tower (Roppongi), Matsushima, Hiroshima (arcade scenes).
Have a look and let me know your thoughts about it either here or on youtube. Thanks.

I like the video, but the music is kinda depressing, it doesn’t really fit in well with some of the clips (like the arcade ones). However, it makes me wanna go there even more to see all those things. I think the music is right for you though, since you probably miss those things a lot

Makes me wish I had videoed some of the cool stuff I’ve seen here so far.
Maybe I’ll by a video camera this summer.

Great video. I love the music, it’s really fitting. I like how the drum arcade machines seem to fit in the perfect place with the audio.

Viv: Sorry my camera SUCKS! =p
Lisa: You will go to Japan soon enough… I’m sure
Rayz: Thanks for the comments, here and on YT. =)
Sano: I’ve gotten a few comments about the music being too depressing. But you are the first one to tell me it doesn’t fit well with the arcade scenes. Hmmm, if anything I think it works great with the arcade scenes. There is bass and drums, so I attempted to make it work well together. Others told me not to mix the Chiki scenes with this song, but I told them I’d make it work, and I feel that I did a fairly good job. I find this song very deceiving and mysterious. Almost like depending on what mood you are in, the song will change its theme for you. Strange =/ Thanks for the comment.
Billy: Just get a digicam. These days you can record endlessly with them anyways. I was using my dcam for all these clips.

Xorsyst: Thank you for noticing! I listened to several songs through before I decided on this one, and I think I made the right choice.
Thanks for the comment.

You did a good job, I mean, it works with the clips and it’s well cut. I also like the song, the video was better the second time I watched it too. Maybe I just didn’t think out of the box, I think I expected a maid’s speedy trance karaoke or something, lol. Maybe I need to be less otaku-ish

Song set the mood really well.. especially when it was juxtaposed with scenes that could easily have been superficial and.. err.. hyperactive? lol, Ehm, I actually liked it when the lighting fluctuated, thought it gave it texture, as in.. 3-dimensionality. But then again, I dont know much about video-ing..
