Hey any chance you’d do a post on Japanese mentality towards foreigners? I’ve love the eccentricity of their culture but wary of their warmth towards “gaijins”.

Aaagghh! And to think you’re a YEAR younger than me…. -.-.

Grrr. Seriously. If I’d started studying Japanese as a teenager, I might even be able to survive more or less on my own in Japan by now.

But back then….I thought Japanese was like calculus (only the “gifted” kids could do it). ~12 months ago, I started studying on a whim and figured out that Japanese is actually a learnable endeavor.

P.S.–What age did you start studying?
